Maps of the Colosseum | Your ultimate navigation guide

With 2000+ years of history to its credit, the Colosseum is no ordinary structure. Although the vagaries of time and weather have left their imprints on the monument, its greatness lies still unscathed. Several of its defining features still stand, like the arena (a wooden floor covered with sand) and the underground, a maze of tunnels and intricate lever systems.

Here are two maps you can use to enter the monument and navigate its insides.

Colosseum map of entrance location

The Colosseum has three main entrances, with the Group Gate and the Main Gate being the two widely used ones. The Stern Gate, now no longer open to the public, can be accessed from the inside. The easiest way to identify the entrances is to look out for the Arch of Constantine, which is adjacent to the two primary entrances.
