- Lines 38 and 75 depart from the northern regions of Rome. From the south, buses 175 and 271 take you to the Colosseum.
- Colosseum has its own bus stop at Piazza del Colosseo, right in front of the entrance.
- Other bus options are numbers 3, 8 40, 60, 23, 30, 85, 87, 117, 810, and 870.
- Tickets can be bought in tobacco shops and newspaper stands and are priced at €1.50 and are valid for about 75 minutes.
- A day pass is economical if you are going around the city and it costs €6.

- The landmark has its own metro station, Colosseo, and on reaching there you'll find yourself right in front of Flavio’s Amphitheatre.
- The metro system in Rome is pretty easy to understand. Out of the 3 lines: A, B, and C, the Colosseo station is situated on line B.
- Board a train on this line either from Roma Termini or any other station across the city.
- If you do not want to switch lines, you can drop off at the nearest stations which are just about 15-20 minutes from the Colosseum entrance.

- If you are caught with either an invalid ticket or no ticket at all, you can be fined up to €100.

- If you are driving from Roma Termini, head southwest on Piazza Dei Cinquecento and take a right turn onto Via Giovanni Giolitti.
- Make the next left onto Via Cavour and another left onto Via degli Annibaldi. St Annibaldi slightly turns leftward and becomes Via Nicola Salvi.
- Follow the Via Celio Vibenna and it'll take you right to the Colosseum entrance.
- Driving also gives you an opportunity to explore other monuments like the Pantheon, Roman Forum, Domus Aurea, etc. on your way by taking slight detours.
You can avail of paid parking facilities near the Colosseum. But keep in mind that these garages are always busy and finding a spot might be quite a task.
